THz APPLICATIONS
Terahertz (THz) waves are electromagnetic waves located between infrared radiation and radio/millimeter waves, offering unique properties:
- Non-ionizing radiation is safe;
- Molecular absorption in the terahertz range allows for the analysis of gases and solid chemical compositions;
- The radiation is sensitive to water absorption, making it suitable for moisture measurement;
- Capable of transmitting large amounts of data over short distances (<200 m), beyond the frequencies used in 5G;
- THz waves can penetrate various materials, such as plastics, foams, fabrics, ceramics, composites, and even ultra-thin films.
At our institute, we develop imaging, communication, and spectroscopy systems based on the most sensitive THz detectors. We specialize in a wide range of frequencies, from 0.1 THz to 4.75 THz:
- Development of THz sources, sensors, and receivers using commercially available semiconductor chip technologies (CMOS, SiGe, GaAs, etc.);
- High-frequency circuit (IC) design;
- Creation of optical components in the THz range;
- Feasibility studies for various THz applications;
- Prototype development for applied systems.
We are open to your ideas and ready to leverage our technological know-how for the development of new projects in various fields.
